Memorial Day!!!

When I was a kid I really didn’t have a clue what the real meaning of Memorial Day was and why we really got the day off from school. Growing up and being a kid the day was exciting because you got the day off from school, a three day weekend, yes!!! It also meant the beginning of summer and that school was almost over for summer break, totally awesome to the max!! Yes, my family went to parades and honored the people that have died and fought for our freedom and our country but I guess at that time in my life I didn’t understand or just was to busy being a kid to really get it, lame, right? My dad wasn’t in the military but worked hard for my family and kept us safe and happy, he is not here with us anymore but I honor and remember him as being a wonderful man and father, I miss him everyday. Today as an adult I can’t thank all the men and women enough for fighting for our freedom and sacrificing your life to keep us safe. This weekend my daughter and I took my camera and headed to Boston Common to be part of thanking and honoring all of the soldier who died for us. The people of Boston planted 1000’s of flags for all of the fallen soldiers of Massachusetts who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Being here amongst all these flags was surreal and all I can say is Thank You! This image doean’t do it justice, seeing all those flags and knowing what they stood for was just awesome to experience.
